Insider’s View on the Making of VW’s Super Bowl Ad

Get the Scoop Before You See the Spot
During the Big Game

I am definitely a football fan (Go Ravens), but if you have been around The Marketing Accelerator for very long, you know I love Super Bowl Commercials. At $3.8M for one 30-second spot, the tension runs high and the strategies are well developed. Each year, the Super Bowl makes legends out of a few advertisers and fools out of many. I dissect the strategies of the legendary and the foolish, so business owners can duplicate the successful and avoid the pitfalls of advertising in their own worlds.

I’ll cover the Super Bowl legends and fools in my presentation “The Best and Worst Super Bowl Ads of 2013” at the West Chester Liberty Chamber Alliance luncheon on Tuesday, February 12. RSVP here. Check out the video invite below.

One of the previous legends of Super Bowl ad fame is the mini-Darth Vader spot for VW in 2011. That same ad agency (Deutsch LA) is producing a new spot series for this year’s Super Bowl for VW. See the interview with Deutsch LA’s CEO Mike Sheldon as he talks about the pressures to perform. Great behind the scenes information.

Would love to hear your talk next Tuesday, but I am not a member of W.C. chamber.

Would you do a business presentation on the Super Bowl commercials at a CMN/MC2 meeting?
